FHPA-LR: Missions and presentation
 

To represent the sector in its contacts with public authorities and tourist organisations.
To defend Camping and Caravanning colleagues in their disputes.
To develop the whole profession, particularly through the organisation of the annual Tourist Facilities and Techniques Show (SETT) and the Conference for the Tourist and Camping and Caravanning Industries.
To inform and train managers by offering professional training courses (the Federation has its own training organisation).

F.H.P.A. LR has the status of a professional federation and is administered by a Committee (18 members) and by a Board of Directors consisting of 36 members proportionally representing each department. F.H.P.A. LR currently has 448 members:

Apart from the usual management questions concerning regulations and the defence of the profession, F.H.P.A. LR offers its members:

  • Professional training courses,
  • Promotion of selective operations in France or abroad in partnership with the Regional Tourism Committee (CRT), press campaigns, etc
  • Tourist Industry Shows with technical conferences run by competent, well-known speakers,
  • The Tourist Facilities and Techniques Show (S.E.T.T.) attended by 240 specialist suppliers
 

Its members benefit from:

  • regular information on general, tax and staffing regulations, etc. ...
  • professional representation in matters involving administrative and institutional authorities, and in particular the Prefecture (grading, extension requests, etc. ...). Competition and Consumption, Departmental and Regional Committee for Tourisms, Languedoc-Roussillon Economic and Social Council, etc...
  • preferential rates negotiated by agreements with SACEM (entertainment, music broadcasting), Bureau VERITAS, A.I.F. (inspection of electrical installations and play areas), Institut BOUISSON-BERTRAND (analysis of drinking water and pool water safety), ELF ANTARGAZ (gas bottles),
  • two comprehensive insurance contracts specially adapted to Camping and Caravanning, and a legal aid contract,
  • the availability of model documents: employment contracts, pitch hire and furnished accommodation hire contracts, internal rules, police forms, invoices, etc. ...
  • defence of the profession: working to prevent unfair competition from illegal and commercial style campsites,
  • an annual trip abroad, with visits to campsites and meetings with professionals working in the country,
  • creation of particularly useful working documents: price surveys (high-season rates for all members, for pitches or furnished hire accommodation, with averages by department, geographical area and category), and operating ratios by category (social security charges and salary costs, energy and water supply, maintenance and advertising budget costs, etc. ...)
  • and a whole range of services too numerous to list.

     It has created its own Internet and Intranet sites.
