For the first time, the Axiome survey evaluated the levels of tax paid by the camping-caravanning industry. Business tax alone, paid by the region's camping-caravanning establishments, ran to 11 million euros in 2000. Of course, tax levels also have to be evaluated by taking account, in particular, of the considerable volume of VAT generated by the camping-caravanning industry and the connected expenditure to which it leads. There is also holiday tax, which comes directly from tourist communes.
