But his colleagues proved him wrong by showing themselves to be very interested in the conference held on the subject. Certainly, the audience was modest, but everyone present, from the worlds of camping and caravanning, hotels and catering, and furnished accommodation hire all showed that they were very attentive to the question.
Accommodation for seasonal workers encourages seasonal workers to act more effectively on behalf of tourist enterprises and their customers. The visit to La Grande Motte of Lilian Halles French, representative of the general tourist inspectorate for seasonal worker accommodation added a particular interest to the conference.

Seasonal worker accommodation is linked to the question of giving more continuity to jobs, which the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Council has been working on for a number of years. The Secretary of State for Tourism has obviously understood the message and some legislative advances may well occur in this sector. Traditional accommodation grants cannot currently be used, as the question has never been tackled in any depth. Obviously, this social concern cannot be dissociated from economic development and everyone who took part in the meeting on this theme at SETT felt that they had made a small start to an ambitious project.
